The world’s largest cruise ship, the Allure of the Seas, is scheduled to sail under the Storebælt bridge at approx. 17.30 on Saturday, 30 October.
The ship will sail under the East Bridge in the middle of the channel to take full advantage of the navigational clearance of 65 m. Like its sister ship, the Oasis of the Seas, the Allure of the Seas will lower its funnel from 72 m to 64.99 m. Low tide and an adjustment to the ship’s speed to push it further into the water will also ensure its safe passage.
For safety reasons, it will not be possible to stay on the Storebælt link to film the Allure of the Seas as it sails under the East Bridge. The vessel can be viewed from the beach south of the Storebælt bridge at the Iceboat Museum at the end of Storebæltsvej.
For updated information about the precise timing of the ship’s passage under the bridge, please refer to the website marinetraffic.com where you can follow the ship’s progress and be updated on its exact position.
The vessel’s entire passage through Storebælt will be monitored from Korsør Naval Station by Storebælt VTS service. Should further information be required, the navy’s press officer can be contacted at +45 7020 4033.
