The transfer of the issuer function took place on 1 June 2013. Today BroBizz A/S have approximately 830,000 customer contracts and over 1 million affiliated BroBizz® devices distributed to the customers.
BroBizz A/S was founded in preparation for the toll service which is being planned by the EU. EU is calling upon a number of approved and independent issuer companies (Toll Service Providers) to issue so-called OBEs (On Board Equipment) – known as BroBizz® devices in Denmark. The BroBizz® enables payment to be made at any toll facility in the EU and for the issuer company to process the payment on behalf of the customer.
Since its establishment in 2008, BroBizz A/S has managed the business development in the area. Focus has primarily centred on:
- continued development of BroBizz® as a means of payment on toll roads, and
- extending the use of BroBizz® to other payment services, e.g. parking facilities
Going forward, the company will be focusing its business development within these two areas so that BroBizz A/S continues to be at the forefront of developments in Europe.
BroBizz A/S has outsourced the majority of its operational tasks to private service companies.
The major contracts include:
- Operation and development of IT systems
- Payment card administration
Future development areas
In future, BroBizz A/S will seek to offer solutions based on a BroBizz®, which makes it easier to be a motorist. Consequently, the company will continue to help to increase growth within transport-related payment services, with focus on parking, access control, payment for fuel/car washing and related areas.
In addition, the company wishes to help to increase the use of EasyGo in the Nordic area and in Europe.
