Sund & Bælt wishes to be an attractive workplace which is able to attract, retain and develop talented employees and managers. We believe that committed employees and managers create value for customers and the company.

Sund & Bælt actively works on being an attractive workplace that looks after employee safety, health and well-being.

Our objective is to maintain a healthy and safe working environment with no industrial accidents. For Sund & Bælt, the working environment conditions relating to movement and work on our facilities, and at the toll station at the Storebælt Bridge, are particularly critical. Our efforts are based on a working environment policy and a management system that supports continuous improvement.

We conduct mandatory safety training for all employees and contractors who need to perform work on Storebælt’s road and railway. We analyze and investigate all accidents with a view to improvements. External suppliers who work at our facility are required to report accidents.

As the only bridge and railway owner in the world, we are certified under DS/OHSAS 18001:2008 in the working environment area, likewise we have The Danish Working Environment Authority’s Crown Smiley.

Health and well-being

The healthier Sund & Bælt’s employees are and the better they thrive, the more our company is strengthened. We offer our employees:

Safety Committee meetings with employee safety representatives four times a year, healthy food in canteens, an anti-bullying policy and a senior flex-jobs policy. We also offer benefits for our employees, such as a free and anonymous health check, support in relation to possible stress, consultation with a physiotherapist, chiropractor, psychologist, masseur or dietitian. Sund & Bælt also has a smoking policy and offers stop-smoking courses and sports activities.
