Sund & Bælt Holding A/S, as the parent company, has overall management of the activities in its 100 per cent owned subsidiaries. The subsidiaries are: A/S Storebælt, A/S Øresund, A/S Femern Landanlæg, Sund & Bælt Partner A/S, and Brobizz A/S.
Sund & Bælt also, through its A/S Øresund subsidiary, owns 50 per cent of Øresundsbro Konsortiet, which in turn owns and operates the Øresund Bridge. The state-owned Swedish company, SVEDAB AB, owns the other 50 per cent.
Sund & Bælt is also the operating company with overall responsibility for A/S Storebælt and A/S Øresund.
Sund & Bælt was established as a 100 per cent state-owned public limited company for the construction of the fixed link across Øresund on 4 December 1991. This, together with the Act for the Construction of a Fixed Link across Storebælt, was replaced by Act no. 588 of 24 June 2005 on Sund & Bælt Holding A/S.
Sund & Bælt has 316 employees (2020).
The Sund & Bælt head office is in Copenhagen, and there is a well-staffed administration centre in Korsør for the Storebælt Bridge toll station.
In addition, there are some 200 contractors from private companies who handle operation and maintenance tasks on the Storebælt Bridge.
