News: Information meeting on the execution of the first phase of the expansion of the Øresund Motorway
The Øresund Motorway, which runs across Amager from Exit 20, Copenhagen C, in the west to Copenhagen Airport and the Øresund Link in the east, is currently under heavy strain. Traffic jams and congestion are frequent, causing delays for road users.
In order to improve conditions for the many motorists who use the motorway, a majority in the Danish Parliament has decided, as part of the Infrastructure Plan 2035, to expand the Øresund Motorway.
In April 2026, Sund & Bælt, in cooperation with Munck Havne & Anlæg, will begin work on the first phase of the expansion of the Øresund Motorway. Specifically, additional lanes will be added between Exit 20, Copenhagen C, and Exit 17, Airport W. In addition, a parallel ramp will be established between Exit 19, Ørestad, and Exit 20, Copenhagen S.
Ahead of the upcoming works, Sund & Bælt invites the public to a information meeting. At the meeting, attendees will be presented with an overview of the preliminary timetable and details of the construction works.
At the meeting, there will be an opportunity to ask questions about the project both in plenary and afterwards to technical representatives at information stands.
Information meeting
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 25 March 2026, from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm at Hotel Crowne Plaza – Copenhagen Towers, Ørestads Boulevard 114–118, 2300 Copenhagen S. Doors open at 4.30 pm.
Sund & Bælt notes that the presentation at the meeting will be recorded with a view to later publication on Sund & Bælt’s website.
