Effective solutions for Denmark's largest construction projects
I find it exciting to work with AI in a company like Sund & Bælt, where technology is used to address tangible challenges in the physical world. It is fascinating how AI can be integrated into everything from route optimization to the development, monitoring, and operation of our infrastructure facilities.
I joined Sund & Bælt in November 2024 as an AI Technology Manager in the Applied Knowledge & AI team within the Digital Division. My department is relatively new, which means we spend a lot of time building relationships with the various divisions in the company. We engage with colleagues across all areas to understand their challenges and needs, enabling us to assist them as effectively as possible with tailored AI solutions. We are also working on establishing frameworks for how AI should be implemented at Sund & Bælt, making decisions on everything from project scoping to technology selection and programming languages.
One of the most recent projects the team has worked on involves route optimization within Sund & Bælt's toll program. Using AI, the team has ensured that drivers' routes are now more optimal in terms of time spent and kilometers driven. It is incredibly motivating to see how our solutions deliver tangible results.
As a student at DTU, I had a student job at a company involved in the Fehmarnbelt project, and since then, I have followed the construction closely. For me, it is particularly exciting to work in a company like Sund & Bælt, where we combine complex technological solutions with some of Denmark's largest infrastructure projects. I see tremendous potential in the work here and look forward to contributing to the development of AI and infrastructure in the coming years.
