Drones are our eyes in Storebælt Bridge inspections
The high bridge of the Storebælt Bridge rests on 21 bridge piers, two anchor blocks, two pylons and two abutments. They make the bridge safe and comfortable to cross. It is crucial to take good care of them. Their structural health is thoroughly checked every five years. Until recently, this work was performed by climbers. Now drones can do the job faster, more safely and at a lower cost.

Drones are a constant presence at the Storebælt Bridge. They assist Sund & Bælt in the maintenance of the 18 km long bridge. Proper maintenance, enabled by the drones, helps extend the service life of the bridge.
