Traffic on the Øresund Motorway to be diverted in Weeks 39 and 40

Sund & Bælt is diverting traffic on two sections of the Øresund Motorway in Weeks 39 and 40 to create space for construction activities on the northern side of the motorway.

The work will be carried out during evenings, nights, and weekends to minimise disruption to road users. While the work is underway, only one lane will be open in each direction. During daytime hours, when work on the traffic diversion is not taking place, the current number of lanes will be maintained.

The traffic diversion forms part of the expansion of the Øresund Motorway, which will improve traffic flow on one of Denmark’s most important transport links. Construction work will take place between 2026 and 2029.

Traffic changes in Week 39

Traffic will be diverted on the section from the Tårnby Tunnel eastbound to Exit 17, Airport West.
Work will take place from 21 to 28 September 2026.
On weekdays, work will be carried out between 18:00 and 06:30.
During the weekend, work will take place between 15:00 and 11:00.
While the work is underway, only one lane will be open in each direction.

Traffic changes in Week 40

Traffic will be diverted on the section where the Øresund Motorway merges with the Amager Motorway.
Work will take place from 30 September to 5 October 2026.
On weekdays, work will be carried out between 19:00 and 06:00.
During the weekend, work will take place between 18:30 and 09:30.
While the work is underway, only one lane will be open in each direction.
