Traffic across Storebælt was largely unchanged in the second quarter compared with the same period last year. Overall traffic increased by 0.1 per cent.
The most significant change occurred during the weekend of 20–21 June, when traffic increased by 9.7 per cent compared with the same weekend in 2025. The increase coincided with two concerts by The Weeknd at Parken in Copenhagen and the Heartland Festival on Sydfyn.
"Traffic across Storebælt has developed as expected during the second quarter, but major events can cause noticeable fluctuations. We saw this last year during Ed Sheeran’s concerts, which attracted nearly 100,000 people from across Denmark, and the same applies when several large events take place at the same time," says Jens Villemoes, Head of Media Relations at Sund & Bælt.
During the second quarter, daily traffic on the Storebælt Bridge ranged between 36,000 and 46,000 vehicles per day. Truck traffic saw a slight increase, while bus traffic remained below last year's level.
